What Does Your Parish Council Do?
- Parish Council and Planning Committee meet 1st Tuesday of every month at Wolverley Church Hall
- Councillors visit planning applications each month
- Councillors discuss planning applications with officers at Wyre Forest District Council
- Maintain Street Lights
- Undertake regular patrols to identify faulty street lights
- Employ Parish Lengthsman to undertake various jobs around the two villages
- Review the Parish Plan monthly and address actions raised
- Meet with the Police each month
- Have representatives on PACT
- Hold public meetings on major issues, for example the Wolverley Flooding
- Attend site visits on contentious planning issues
- Liaise with Worcestershire County Council and Local County Councillor
- Have representatives on local outside organisations, for example CAWFACCs
- Attend Parish Forum and Wyre Forest Area meetings
- Liaise with Wyre Forest District Council
- Help maintain our village churchyards
- Go round the Parish and identify issues such as overgrown trees, hedges, litter problems etc
- Encourage road safety initiatives
- Progress rural housing scheme initiative
- Work towards achievement of Quality Parish Status
- Deal with concerns from parishioners
